Hello there, blogverse!
It's been a whole big while since I've last blogged, and for that, I'm truly sorry. Let's just say, life got in the way.
Things that've changed since I've last blogged:
I'm older. Bah.
The waistline increased, then decreased some (goddamn thyroid issues). I'm hoping it'll carry on shrinking.
I now have two movies in development, a supernatural thriller, and a comedy drama, and should hear about the third one, a big budget, live action, family fantasy movie, any day now.
I've mastered a crab and zucchini pasta recipe that is not just super delicious, but low fat and gluten free people!
And lastly, but most importantly, I met the most wonderful guy in the world, in of all places, a raid in the video game, Destiny. We've been together now two years in December! Woop, woop!
Oh, and one other thing I should probably mention...
I'VE WRITTEN MY DEBUT NOVEL!!!
Working in the film and television industry is fantastic, the stuff of dreams, but as a screenwriter, the writing is all you control - and quite often, not even that. There are producers, directors, actors and execs who all can, and quite often do, have a say.
I've so many stories I want to tell, but as a genre writer, having to worry constantly over budgets or filming or *insert any random word here* meant work had become very frustrating. Adding that it's been a few years since I've had something produced, and writing a book became the answer!
I actually started the book a while back, several years ago in fact, but work kept getting in the way. Finally this year, I dedicated a chunk of time to finish it, and I'm so glad I did. The sense of achievement is phenomenal.
WANTED is a Young Adult (YA) thriller that's set in America. A pacy, page turner, I've essentially taken the screenwriting approach by using words economically, or as New York Times Bestseller James Patterson puts it - I've cut out the parts you would skip anyway.
Here's the blurb:
Fourteen-year old Chase Ryder has been living rough on the streets of New York for months – a harrowing experience yet still better than what she endured at home.
When she and recently widowed vet, Sully, rescue a super intelligent collie, Chase finally finds herself part of the loving family unit she has always craved, but every display of Bandit’s special skills brings them one step closer to the mercenary billionaire who created him… and he wants his expensive experiment back.
With the enemy's personal SWAT out for blood, a devastating turn of events finds them running for their lives as they fight to save one of their own.
Along with those lovely folks at Instafreebie, I've decided to give away the first few chapters to some of you lucky readers! All you have to do is go HERE, sign up to my mailing list and choose which format you want the book in and it'll be emailed to you. Winners will be chosen at random by Instafreebie.
And that's it!
For less than two minutes of your time, you could be reading the first chapters of my debut book, for FREE!
Now that's what I call a bargain.
